⚠️ Kiyota Seminar is an English Seminar.
Although we accept all types of students (A/B, PEARL, Other majors), our papers and presentations are done in English. If the English explanations are not sufficient, some Japanese can be used during discussions or between students as well.
Although, graduation thesis is allowed in Japanese.
Seminar Schedule
- Spring Semester: Wednesday 5th and 6th period (may change)
- Fall Semester: Wednesday 4th and 5th period (may change)
- Sub-seminar sessions are decided by students
- Junior PEARL students are able to attend the seminar sessions real-time via Zoom (on Hiyoshi campus bu due to the clash in schedule with mandatory language classes.
- Attendance is mandatory, but flexible if job hunting/intern for seniors.

- Business Data Science: Examine the changes in the variables, investigate the relationship between them, and identify the causal relationships.

- 9 Economics A/B, 11 Economics PEARL, 2 Law, 3 Dual Degree
- Inactive members are studying abroad as part of exchange programs (e.g., Seoul National University, University of Notre Dame, and University of South Carolina), joined dual-degree programs (e.g., Bocconi University), in internship programs (e.g., Google), etc.

Learning the theory in the main seminar lessons to build a good foundation and form your own opinion.
Group discussions with seminar members and helping each other at sub-seminars.
Using theories and statistical tools to analyze specific data to support your arguments. We use R programming.
